Hey hey!
Yaxin and I had a grand time gypping Tinseltown of their money today. 3 for the price of 2 ;) We had the entire theatre to ourselves for the first movie "March of the Penguins". Then watched first half of "Fantasic Four", which really turned out to be NOT so fantastic. In fact, it was down right corny.... cliches after cliches after cliches. Then watched our second movie "War of the Worlds". In my opinion, it wasn't bad, the blood, dust, bacteria, and dysfunctional family all worked out well. Dakota Fanning could have screamed a bit less though. =P The ending was kind of abrupt, but in a way satisfying. I liked the different attitudes of the people portrayed in the movie. After staring at the theatre screen for several hours, my eyes started watering. It happened during the touching moment of the movie, and I think that the guy sitting next to me thought that I was crying... =P After "War of the Worlds", we hopped back in on the ending half of "Fantastic Four". The last half was not much better than the first half, all was predictable. Especially the ending. From all the previews that were shown, definitely want to see Harry Potter =D, Corpse Bride, Elizabethtown, and several others. First time I've watched three movies back to back all in one day. It was tiring even though all it required was sitting and enjoying.
Later.... much later.... attempted my blue Gandhi again. I am so disgusted by the portrait!!! For the life of me, I really cannot paint realistic faces. So Gandhi is DOOMED. He has a reason to be so blue now. There are many things wrong with the eyes and lips and nose and cheeks and forehead... I have yet to begin the ears and eyebrows and glasses and mustache. BTW, this was my mother's critique.
Mom: What are you doing?
Me: (silence.... I am painting. What does it look like I am doing? duh!)
Mom: Why don't you make the background blue, and the guy black?
Me: Then he would look like a black person.
Mom: I thought you were painting a black guy.
Me: (silence... Gandhi is suppose to be Indian...x_x )
>_< Goes to show how far off my painting is from the real deal.
